Privacy policy
XMLNest is a browser extension and this website, xmlnest.com. This page explains what each of them does with your data. In short: nothing is collected.
The XMLNest extension
This extension does not collect, store, share or sell any personal data.
- It does not use analytics, tracking or advertising.
- It runs only on sites where you enabled it, or on the current tab when you click its button. It opens XML files from your computer (file:// addresses) only if you allow it to access local files.
- Its fonts and code are included in the extension. It makes requests only for resources that the displayed document asks for, or when you click.
- To display a page, it may load the XSLT stylesheet referenced by that page, and the files that stylesheet imports, as the browser itself used to do. Requests to the site you are viewing are made like the browser’s own requests. A stylesheet or imported file hosted on another site is loaded only if that site allows it, and the extension never sends your cookies to another site.
- In the reading view of a feed, the feed’s images are loaded from the sites that host them, without a referrer (those sites are not told which page you are reading). As with any image on the web, this request shows your IP address to the site that hosts the image.
- Podcast audio, links and the original file (when you download it from the source view) are loaded only when you click them.
- Its settings (the sites where you turned it off, the sites where you allowed scripts, the theme, the opening view and line wrapping) are stored only in your browser (chrome.storage.local). They are never synced and are not sent anywhere.
